 1996 Rainbow Study Bible

I am so pleased with how this Bible turned ou. I added extra blank pages in front and back to provide extra area to take notes in. This book posed a challenge: finding the best way to keep the old endpaper flyleaves (because of the writing on them) without creating a weak structural point. My solution ensured the greatest durability. This Bible required a lot of page repair; fixing tears and infilling losses. I attempted to remove old glue manually but had to guillotine it off instead. The book was perfect bound, so to increase durability I sawed small channels into the spine and put thread in some of them. It was reglued with Jade 403 PVA once all of the page repair was completed. I added a hollow to add more contact between the cover and the text block. Then I prepared the new vegetable tanned Siegel goatskin cover, blind tooling a line along the edges and a cross onto the spine. I added faux raised bands for aesthetic purposes.
