This hand bound reprint of Wuthering Heights has been carefully edited/formatted to honor Emily Bronte's masterpiece while giving it new life as a handcrafted treasure. Every book produced by Handmade Cactus Bindery is unique: this one features a cloth bound cover with a silver hot foil transfer design as well as a built in ribbon bookmark and silver corner protectors. Most modern hardcover books are mass-produced using only thermal glue to hold the pages together, without any sewing or traditional folding techniques. While this method is fast and inexpensive, it often results in books that break down quickly - spines crack, pages fall out, and the book loses its structure over time. This hand bound edition of Wuthering Heights, however, is made to last for generations. The 198 sheets (396 pages) have been carefully sewn together using French Link Stitch, a bookbinding technique that has been used for at least 500 years. After sewing the spine has been further reinforced with archival quality, acid free PVA glue and carefully lined with mull and Japanese tissue paper to provide extra durability. This multi step process means the book is not only beautiful but also built to stand the test of time - a true heirloom edition for any book lover.
