Bitter Melon Bindery
Chanel was the second bookbinder I found on Youtube. Her projects are so clean and elegant, she has lots of helpful info on tools and materials, and just came out with a wonderful book (Handmade Books at Home) full of projects from beginner to advanced. I used the info in this book when making my Shakespeare book. In my second week at the American Academy of Bookbinding, my instructor praised her as the best bookbinder to learn from on YouTube!
Four Keys Book Arts
My personal favorite, Four Keys Book Arts has full length videos documenting the process he uses to make incredible books. He makes a lot of medieval inspired leather bound books. and has some great tutorials.
Sea Lemon
This was the first youtuber I ever watched regarding bookbinding. Her binding techniques and tutorials are very helpful and easy to follow.
DAS Bookbinding
DAS Bookbinding is an experienced bookbinder on Youtube with many tutorials as well. If you are looking to try more advanced methods, this is a great one.
Ingenious Designs
Ingenious Designs is a wonderful resource for anyone looking to make stunning books on a budget. From sourcing affordable leather to cheaper methods of edge gilding, his videos are a great resource.
Nik the Booksmith
Nik has a lot of great projects, simple tutorials, advanced tutorials, and various bookbinding content. For getting a better feel for how paper marbling is done, to making crazy book covers with a laser engraver, her channel is awesome.
My finishing press, sewing frame, punching cradle, backing boards, and brass edged boards came from Jim Poelstra at affordablebindingequipment.com.
My uncle built me my nipping press out of some scrap wood, but the Friday Forge makes beautiful ones!
Primarily from Hollander's because shipping is cheaper to where I live, but Talas and Colophon are also great resources.
